For the longest time, I thought something was wrong with me.

How could I feel like I needed both solid routines and wide-open space?

I couldn’t figure out why I craved structure one minute
and felt suffocated by it the next.

But that’s ADHD.

That’s the dance so many of us do quietly, behind the scenes.

We need structure.
The kind that keeps the world from feeling like it’s spinning off its axis.

For most of my life, I thought the answer was to try harder.

Push more.
Organize better.
Wake up earlier.
Read another productivity book.
Buy another planner I’d abandon in a week.

Because on the outside, I was the high achiever, the one who always figured it out, always pulled through, always made it look effortless.

But inside?
I felt like I was slowly falling apart.

The to-do lists kept growing.
My brain felt like it was buffering 24/7.
And instead of feeling motivated, I felt paralyzed.

And the worst part?
No one could tell me why.

So I blamed it on character flaws:
“lazy”
“inconsistent”
“not disciplined enough”
“not living up to her potential”

But here’s the truth I wish I had known earlier:

I wasn’t unmotivated.
I was unsupported.

I wasn’t stuck because I lacked effort.
I was stuck because I didn’t understand my brain.

When I finally learned why things felt harder for me—
why I burned out,
why I froze under pressure,
why I could do everything for everyone but myself—
my entire world shifted.

I stopped chasing motivation and started building systems that worked for my ADHD brain.
I stopped shaming myself and started giving myself structure and softness.
I stopped white-knuckling through life and started asking:
“What does my brain need to function, not just survive?”

And slowly… I got unstuck.

Not because I became a “better” version of myself,
but because I stopped fighting the one I had.

When I was diagnosed at 19, everyone told me I should feel relieved.
Like I’d finally been handed the missing puzzle piece.
Like everything would make sense now.

But instead?
I felt like my whole world flipped upside down.

I was the “high achiever.”
The “you’ll be fine, you always are” girl.
The one who got good grades, over-prepared, over-worked, and quietly spiraled behind the scenes so no one would ever know how hard it really was.

So when the words “You have ADHD” landed… it didn’t feel like clarity.
It felt like loss.

Loss of the version of me I’d been trying so hard to be.
Loss of the story I’d told myself about why everything felt harder than it “should.”
Loss of the belief that if I just tried harder, I could keep up.

And beneath that loss was grief.
Grief for the girl who struggled silently because she didn’t have a name for what she was carrying.
Grief for the burnout she called “normal.”
Grief for all the moments she blamed herself instead of her brain wiring.

No one talks about this part—
The mourning that comes after the diagnosis.

Hello and Welcome! My name is Tiffany, I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in PA and NJ, licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in NY, and an ADHD-CCSP. I have been working in the field for about 15 years specializing in ADHD and women’s mental health, and I’m passionate about helping women understand themselves more deeply, build sustainable strategies, and create meaningful change. My practice is fully virtual, offering flexible, accessible support so you can show up exactly as you are — from home, work, or wherever life takes you.

My therapeutic style is warm and open. I describe myself as an eclectic clinician, but tend to borrow heavily from humanistic, person-centered, and strengths-based work. I also incorporate Neuroaffirming, ACT, DBT, and CBT, strategies into sessions and treatment planning. I feel that clients should be viewed as a whole person, who is made up of a multitude of gifts, talents and strengths that are meaningful and important; and should be explored beyond the context of one identified issue or problem.
